create rule with distribution list

I have several distribution lists. I also have several rules using
individual names. When I try to create a rule usind a distribution list, it
says "name of list here" may not be used with this feature. You cannot use
distribution lists with rules? Basically, I want to put a copy of anything I
send to a specific distribution list into a folder I have created in my
personal folders. I am using office 2002
