Create shortcut keys for frequent phrases? Ex. "jj" for John Doe

Hi, I used to have shortcut keys set up before a recent computer switchover.
For ex. I typed "jj" when I wanted to type the phrase "John Doe." With new
equipment, they disapeared. How can I enter them again? Thanks!
