create singles site?

Hello. I want to create a singles site. Is frontpage the right program to do
this? And if so, can anyone give me a hint on how to get started? Thanks,

I just wanted to clarify that I mean one of those sites where singles can
meet other singles, put up their profile, pic, who they'd be interested in,
etc.

FrontPagte is certainly capable of creating any kind of web site you like.
HOWEVER...

The type of web site you're describing is known as a "web application." It
is a set of pages that are interactive, and store and retrieve data from
various data sources on the server. It is also quite a programming task to
write one.

Assuming that you are NOT a programmer, your best bet would be to Google for
some ready-made web application that you can use or buy.

first deduce what server side scripting you can use on your server, the look
at places like www.hotscripts.com, www.fuzzysoftware.com, www.aspin.com,
etc. for an app that is as close to your vision as you can get, and modify
it if needed.

by working this way you can get results and learn simultaneously.
conversely if you set out to build a heavy app like this will wind up being,
you'll have a great deal of learning before you can produce any tangible
results.

MetroplexSingles.com was my first website I produced using Frontpage 98. I
went to the book store and bought a book about a dictionary thick and
learned all about the program and then went to programming. The website was
a Dallas/Ft. Worth website featuring all the singles groups in the DFW
Metroplex broken down by counties, a calendar page which listed every
singles event happening, a online dating list of all the internet dating
sites, picture profiles of singles in the area, and a misc. page of various
singles links found on the internet, and tons more of information for
singles to dive into. In it's prime, I was actually receiving over 500
people in the front door of the website every single day. I got married
several years later and sold the domain name for $5000. So, to answer your
question, yes you can do it in FrontPage. If you'd like a list of all the
internet dating sites on the web and the misc. relationship links I had back
in the day, or anything else I had , I will be happy to send you with what
I've got.
