Creating a distribution list from an Excel

Can someone explain how I can create an Outlook distribution list from an
Excel spreadsheet? I know I have to import it, but then what?

If the entries are in the form

name1 address1
name2 address2
name3 address3
etc.

Then selecting the list, clicking Edit>Copy, then using Paste to deposit the
list in the Members field of the Select Members dialogue will work. You
cannot import into a DL.
