creating a dropdown list for task names

We are rolling out project server across ~ 100 projects in our company.

We want to use standardized tasks in our GANTT charts - can we create a
dropdown menu where the PM's choose from pre-defined task names?

I know we can do this for other columns, just not for the already-defined
Task Name column.

Any ideas on how to do the impossible?

Hi tonie,
You can't do this, but there are two ways forward, one good, and one bad...

1. Good one - use pre-defined Enterprise Templates and alwasy insist users
create projects from these.
2. Bad one - hide the tasks colum from all views, create a custom task
field driven by a formula, and allow users to select from these, and then use
another formula to copy it to the task name. Also you won't get any
formatting (indenting) this way.
