Creating a form and connect to database

Hello,
I am new to Infopath, but it looks like a great platform for creating a form
that I need to track 3 simple fields
-Labor Task
-Date
-Hours

I got the form created then saw that I should maybe start from scratch, but
do I create a table in access first then create a new form that connects to
access? If so how do I connect. I used to be fairly competent in these things
but Office 2007 has thrown me off balance
