Creating a POP3 account in Entourage for my Hotmail address

Hi there,

So, I posted this on the Windows Live board here -
http://windowslivehelp.com/community/p/114612/441741.aspx#441741 - but
got no help at all. Hopefully someone over here would be able to help,
please.

I've tried the new account set up detailed here
http://windowslivehelp.com/solutions/dav/archive/2009/04/23/start-using-hotmail-with-entourage.aspx
but the accounts are not even showing up in the Account List on the
left side of the Mail pane. I've tried setting it up 4 different
times, and none of them appear although listed in the Accounts Tool.

How do I proceed from here if I can't even view them in the Mail
pane?

Thanks

That's because POP accounts don't show up as separate under folders "On My
Computer". If you want separate Inboxes for that account you need to set up
a rule.

Custom Rule: Move messages from each POP account to it's own Inbox.

You also need to understand the difference between a POP and IMAP account.
Messages will no longer be stored on the server for access with other
devices unless you set to "leave on server" under the Options tab in the
Account window.

Diane,
I have not been able to send an email using any of my pop3 accounts
now for 4-5 days. I wonder if anyone is having this problem? Maybe a
new update is causing issues?

Thanks
Bill

Hi Bill, you've posted under a question about Hotmail and it appears your
problem is different. Please ask your own question and give the details of
YOUR setup.

When asking a question please include info on your computer and which
version of OS X, as certain answers will vary between different Macs and
operating systems. Including RAM helps when there are performance issues.

We also need to know what version of Office and/or Entourage you are using
including any updates. For Office 2008 users it's under the About menu. It
give the version for the application. More info:

Verify 12.2.1 update
