creating a quote

I want to creat a quote sheet in which when I enter the item# the
description and price cells will fill on its own. I know I would have to have
my inventory in a seperate sheet. im just wondering which formula I would
have to use.

Okay, say your inventory was on sheet1 and looked something like this:

cc1 Coca Cola 7.99
dd1 DareDevil Costume 3
ff44 Ford Fire Extinguisher 15.99
ee1 Extra Elvis 25
aa33 Amos Apple 0.75

Then on sheet2 you could have something like this (using the following
vlookup formulas:)

Code Desc Price
dd1 DareDevil Costume 3
ff44 Ford Fire Extinguisher 15.99
formula for Desc column: =VLOOKUP($A2,Sheet1!$A$1:$C$5,2,FALSE)
formula for price column: =VLOOKUP($A2,Sheet1!$A$1:$C$5,3,FALSE)
