Creating a workspace before publishing a project

A

Alison

I created a Sharepoint workspace before a project plan was ready to be
published (working with a vendor needed to set things up fast). Now I can
for the life of me figure out how to link the project plan to that workspace
I created. Do I need to rebuild the whole thing or is there a setting I'm
missing (please say there is a setting).

When i go to provision under an existing workspace it will only show me
workspaces that were generated via project publishing.

Assuming this is 2007.

You will need admin rights to do this:
1) From PWA go to Server Settings>Project Workspaces
2) Highlight the project in question.
3 a) If there is a blank workspace that was automatically provisioned for
the project when you first published, click Delete Site to remove it
b) If there is no workspace associated to the project then go to the
next step
4) With the project highlighted again, click on Edit Site Address
5) Type in the exact name of the existing workspace, just the workspace
name, not the full path. Verify on the bottom that the full URL looks
correct
6) Test the URL by clicking on the Test URL button
7) Click OK
8) With the project highlighted again, click Synchronize to synchronize
permissions.
