Creating an Adobe Print Button

E

Ed Wood

A couple of days ago, I made a post asking how I could automatically print a
web page without having to press the printer icon on the browser.

Murray responded to this post, but he said that what I wanted to do was very
difficult to accomplish, and that I should let the user use the printer icon
method.

Today I had a brilliant idea! I thought that I might incorporate an Adobe
Button on the page, which would open Adobe Reader on the user's system, and
have a crisper copy of the document for them to print.

The problem is, I don't know how to program FP 2003 to accomplish this task.
If anyone can offer suggestions, I would really appreciate it. If you want to
visit my web site and get an idea of what I am trying to do, the url for my
site is:

Thanks, in advance for all of the great suggestions that I know will be
forth coming.
Have a great week-end.

1) You would have to have the document converted to Adobe.
2) When they opened the document in Adobe, they would then need to choose to
print it via the Adobe Reader commands.

First convert the page to Adobe Acrobat format.
Create a link to this. People can then download it, open it in Acrobat
reader and choose to print it.

Thanks to you and Tom Willett for good replys. It is not a problem to
generate a .pdf document of the application. My problem is how do I set up my
web site page in FP 2003 to place an Adobe Button on the page to accomplish
this? I am a novice at web page design in FP, and am learning. I just don't
know how to write the html to accomplish this task.
