Creating an "unmovable" blank page

Dan

Hi, there,

I encountered a problem using Microsoft Word XP during my thesis
writing. I found there was an old post regarding the same issue in
this group, but no satisfactory answers. Since the original post was
posted in 97, I was hoping there is a solution now, after 7 years.
Here is the original post, and thanks for your input!

Hi there,

I have come up against a problem in Microsoft Word 95 that I cannot
seem
to solve and was hoping that someone who reads this post might have an
answer.

Is there any way to insert a blank page in between other pages in a
document which DOES NOT MOVE when text is inserted before it? This
would require that the text flow from the bottom of the page before
the
"unmovable" blank page to the top of the page after the blank page.
Obviously, this would also mean that the page number of the blank page
does not change. Since I am still editing the document, I could be
inserting text before the blank page which can affect its position.

Is there any way to do this in Word95? I have alrady tried creating a
frame (the size of a page) on a blank page and turning off the "move
with text" and turning on the "lock anchor" options in the Frame
Formatting dialog box, but this does not seem to work --- if text is
inserted before the frame, the frame is shifted to the next page.

Does anyone know if there is a way to achieve what I want in Word 95?

Thanks for any help,

--Lance.

Word is not designed to flow text *around* anything, be it a blank page, a
graphic, whatever. For a more satisfactory answer explaining why not, see
Jay Freedman's excellent post in the concurrent thread on this newsgroup

Text Boxes"
