Creating and Accepting Tasks from PWA

On the Tasks View I see the option to create a task. I must be missing
something in a big way because I do not understand why a project manager or
even a resource has to re-enter the name of a task when we have already set
up our schedule using MS Project that lists all of our tasks. It would seem
we could select our tasks from a list of our already established Task Names
which would come with their already established durations allowing us to
assign the task to a resource.

What am I missing? Why is this so hard and confusing?

thank you,

When the project manager creates a project and assigns resources to tasks,
and the publishes the resource assignments, each resource will see the list
of tasks to which he/she is assigned in the project on the View My Tasks
page in PWA. The option to create new tasks exists for the resource to
submit proposed new tasks to the project manager. These tasks do not
currently exist in the project plan, but the resource believes he/she will
perform work on them.

Also, if this is hard and confusing to you, this is why people need training
on how use Project Server properly. Training should be provided, at the
very least, to project managers and team members. Hope this helps.
