Creating ERD relationships in Visio 2007

Jerry Flatto

I am running Visio 2007 professional. I am trying to create the
relationships on an entity relationship diagram. I add a "relationship"
connector to the diagram. Under database properties, I can select
Cardinality. My problem is that this only allows me to set the cardinality
on one end of the relationship. I need to set the cardinality on both ends.
I would have expected two sets of Cardinality choices so that both ends of
the relationship can be set independently.

Any idea how to do this or if even possible?

I do have the Database options set so that "Crow's feet" are displayed on
the document.

Thanks.

Well, in a sense you control the Cardinality of the parent side of the
relationship by defining the column at the endpoint. You can change the
parameters of the parent column, and see the changes on the parent side of
the relationship.

What you are defining is only the cardinality of the child side, as there
are more choices there.
