Creating form in a table Word 2007

T

Tina Hudson

I have created a form in a table in Word 2007. I have several drop down
boxes (not legacy) and I want to know how to set up the drop down box so that
a user:

1. Can type, in lieu of clicking on the drop down arrow, and the choices in
the list that match the typed letters appear, and the user stop typing when
they get to the choice they want, and user can click enter to get to next
field, AND

2. Still be able to protect the form.

I can get this to work using AutoCorrect, but AutoCorrect doesn't work when
I protect the form.

Maybe there is some other neat way to do this?

If the dropdown boxes are "not legacy", then what are they? Did you
use content controls? If so, that's incompatible with forms
protection.

The best alternative may be to create a userform (custom dialog) to
gather the information, and then insert that information into a
document that's protected but has no form fields, only DocVariable
fields.
