creating forms

Hello,
Creating first fill in form. Stuck already. Have used Word help. Need more
help.
Trying to create a form with labels and then add a text form field for the
user to fill in. When clicking the text form field, it does not allow me to
type in the field and it is very small.
Suggestions and advice much appreciated. Thank you all.

To type into a form field, the document has to be protected for forms. What
you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this in
