Creating Multiple Tables Using Bookmark Replacement

L

I'm having a problem creating multiple tables in a Word document. I'm using
bookmarks for tags and searching the document for the bookmark name and
replacing the bookmark text with the tables. I can create one table fine,
however if I try to create another table by replacing the text of another
bookmark, then the second table is stuffed inside of the first table and the
formatting is all screwed up. Also, the second table doesn't actually
complete, just the rows and cells are created with nothing in them.

The problem has to do with being able to select a bookmark, replace that
bookmarks text with a table and then being able to repeat the process on
another bookmark. It seems that I can't find a way to make the creation of
the next table a separate process, it is still atempting to work within the
first table.

I anyone has an example of how to do this, I would REALLY appreciate the
help!

I'm using Word 2002 and VB 6. Although an example in VBA with any version of
Word would be fine.

thanks,

Vince

Hi Lwolf,

It would help to see the code you're using. Barring that, search word.mvps.org
for the article on putting things "in" or "at" bookmarks.

The one thing I can imagine, given your description, is that perhaps the
bookmarks are too close together, so when you work with the one, the next has
been incorporated into the table?
