Creating my own template

Caramellover

I want to create my own template for a powerpoint slideshow. I'm hoping for
something that provides all the outlines, and I just drag/drop/edit what's
there... So it's more I need something that places all the elements, and I
just edit. Everything I find has done all the hard work for me (and I can't
get all the changes I want). Powerpoint says 'heading here' I'd like
something that also says 'banner colour bar here' and I set the colour etc,
and have icons etc...

You can't change the prompt text ("click to add title" "click to add text")
unless you're using PPT 2007.

Instrux for creating your own templates are here:

http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/tutorials.htm (click Creating
Templates)

http://www.indezine.com/products/powerpoint/ppcreatemp.html

http://office.microsoft.com/training/training.aspx?AssetID=RC011368101033&pid=CR061832731033

If you're using 2007, the concepts are similar. Go to the View tab and
select Slide Master to get to the slide master view. In 2007, you have one
slide master and related slide layouts (including a title slide layout). You
can create your own layouts if you want, or simply add or subtract
placeholders to the existing layouts. See the links at Slide Masters and
Layouts at http://www.echosvoice.com/2007_tutorials.htm for some basics.

Looks like I should put up a tutorial on creating your own theme or template
in PPT 2007.

When posting in future, it is helpful if you mention which version of the
application you're working in.
