Creating New Process Engineering Shapes

In Visio 2007 Professional, trial version: I'm trying to create new shapes
in a P & ID shape stencil, but I can't get them to be recognized by the
auto-numbering and reporting features. The only way I can get it to work is
by manually editing the ShapeSheet which is painfully slow and convoluted. I
don't how to edit them by cut and paste. PS: The Shape Conversion menu
command does not do it.

In the Shape Conversion dialog, what Category did you assign to the shapes?

Can you draw a rectangle and successfully perform the conversion? This is
working for me when I try it, so I wonder if it is not working at all for
you or just not working on a specific shape of yours.

OK! I was trying to create shapes through the stencil editing menu. If I
draw the shape on the drawing and convert it, THEN save it to the stencil, it
works. A thousand thanks, Mark.

More issues. Where is the control which locates the text box for the
equipment tag?
I'm trying to change the tag location on some new shapes. The new shapes
don't display the tag handle, and I have to go into the ShapeSheet to enable
the double-click text edit option. --
