Creating new projects based on the enterprise global

Does anyone know how to make the enterprise global
automatically apply to new projects whenever they are
created?

The Enterprise Global file is not used for creating new projects. If you
wish to create new projects from a template, your organization should create
and save enterprise templates for those project types. Users can access
those enterprise project templates by clicking File - New, clicking the On
My Computer link in the sidepane, and then click the Enterprise Project tab
in the dialog.

The Enteprise Global file is meant to be used as your organization's
"library" of custom enterprise objects such as Views, Tables, Filters,
Groups, Fields, etc. It is also used to set the default currency for all
enterprise projects. Hope this helps.

Dale,
Thanks for the post. If a project manager needs to create a new project for
which we haven't created an applicable enterprise template, is there a way
for the new, blank project that appears on the screen when they open Project
Pro (defaulted to connect to the server) to display an Enterprise view,
table, etc. instead of the local global template? For example, we want the
Work column to display in the Gantt chart automatically each time a new,
blank project displays. Making a change to the Entry table/Gantt chart in the
Enterprise Gobal template creates problems with the same objects in the local
global template - which is time-consuming to deal and hamstrings the user
from adding and keeping other columns displayed. I can change the Enterprise
Entry Table so the Enterprise Gantt displays what we need, but I how do I
then set the Enterprise Gantt as the default view for anyone connected to the
server (without having to make a change to each local machine)?
Thanks.

Lois:

The only way you can do this is to set the default view in the template, as
Dale suggested, but even this doesn't set the default view because only the
users can do this for themselves. In fact, the default view for any user
session is the one that they left open in that particular project the last
time they opened it. Project remembers these things for you. Any view that
you add to the Enterprise Global is available to all users connected to the
system. So, train your users to select the Enterprise views you want them to
use.
