Creating popup text for a shape?

I'm using Visio 2003. Is there a way to insert comments so they pop up on
the screen when you hover your mouse over a shape?

Here's what prompts my question. I'm helping a colleague with his Visio
file. He has a series of pages containing block diagrams and he wants to
insert short explanatory text for selected shapes on various pages.

I thought of setting the double-click behavior on a shape to take you to a
page containing the explanatory text for that shape, but this will result in
an unwieldy number of additional pages.

If you can suggest ways to address this need, please let me know. Thanks
for any help.

Thanks. I knew I'd seen something about this.

However, do note that if a shape does not already have a Screen Tip applied,
the menu item will say Insert -> Shape ScreenTip. (The word "Edit" does not
appear. Threw me off for a second.)

Your information was very helpful. However, what if there is a hyperlink also associated with the shape? Is there any way to have both bits of information presented? Be default, it appears that the hyperlink trumps the screen tip information. Thanks! Jim
