I think the problem is I can't authenticate to the various servers. Here is
my problem in greater detail.
My work email/domain are managed through a company called RCN. They host my
mail and will host my future website. I am in shared office space and my
landlord leases T-1 lines. At work I use a dial up with my Thinkpad. My
mail then dumps into that computer. At home, I USED to use a dial up with
my home (Gateway) PC or my Work (IBM) laptop to again dial into RCN to
get/send my work email.
I recently installed SBC DSL at home and had to change the Outgoing Mail
Server SMTP Tab in the Tools/Options/Email Accounts to reflect the SBC
server name on my Gateway PC, it formerly had a RCN designation. My home
system seems to be running okay. However, I don't think I can do the same
at work using a T-1 as it is provided by Sprint. I was hoping to use the
T-1 to access my work email, but it won't work. I was told as an initiative
to cut down on SPAM, many organization(SBC, Sprint, Verizon) are NOT
permitting the authentication that I need to access my mail.
I though two profiles might solve my problem or part of it. I thought I
could use one profile to access my work emails at home and work using my
ThinkPad and another profile profile to only use at work. I was hoping to
toggle between the two and having my mail dump into the same PC regard less
of locale.
If I am missing something, please explain.
Thanks for your effort thus far.
