creating Visio diagram from MS Project data

Hi, old Visio user, new Project user here. I just discovered that I can
convert a project in MS Project into an organizational chart in Visio.
Wonderful! But when I do this, the shapes in the chart are not organized in a
way that is actually useful to me. They aren't listed in the order of the
items in the project--say, in the order of the start dates of the project
tasks--they appear to be in alphabetical order. Is there a way to set up
Project or Visio so that I don't have to go and move all the shapes manually
(which would take almost as much time as creating the thing from scratch)?

Also, it would be much more helpful if I could convert the Project data into
a flowchart or timeline, but the only option seems to be an organizational
chart. Is there any way within Visio to convert an entire chart into a flow
diagram in one easy step?
