Creating Visio Templates

Can I create my own template in Visio, one that is just like the sample
templates provided, and that others can use to create Visio diagrams?

short answer, yes.. Visio templates and drawings have a lot of the same
characteristics and often the creation of one allows it to be redefined as
the other.

Yes you can, but if you want to send the new templates along with a new
document you should put them in the document stencil. This can be viewed
with file/shapes/Show document stencils. Ofcourse you can also create a new
stencil and share that with other users.
