Creating Visio Timeline Shapes and setting dates

I am working with VB 6 creating timeline and milestone shapes in Visio
2003 sp1. I can successfully add timelines and milestones to a Visio
document from VB but I can not get around the modal dialog box that is
displayed for the timeline start and end date and each milestone.

Is there a way to set the timeline and milestone date(s) programatically?
