creation dates with templates

Objective: insert a collection of tasks (in a roll-up) into an
existing project schedule.

What: I have a template that contains this roll-up and children. I am
copying the tasks from the template and pasting into the project
schedule. Predecessors within the roll-up are maintained.

Issue: The creation date for the pasted task is the same as the
template, thus messes up our reporting on newly created tasks.

Question: How do I overcome this and still maintain my predecessor
information?

Hello jb,

If your template is in a Project file, to insert this template don't use the
copy/paste feature (which generates dates constraints if you copy date
column) but use : Insert / Project....

No the template is not in a project file. It is an enterprise template.
