creation of Documents from within Project Pro 2003?

O

omar

when i configured the PWA i made it creat a documents sharepoint site
automatically for each newly created project, but when a manager tries to
access the documents to creat new docs from with in the Project Pro 2003 it
requires the admin user and pass of the server where the sharepoint services
are installed.
this also happen to the manager when trying to access the documents from the
PWA interface.
what can i do to make this stop, do i have to add every manager to the local
user group of the sharepoint server or can i disable that so that the
managers can move more freely?

You need to set every user account in PWA to use Windows User Account
authentication. The features of SharePoint available in Project Server
(such as Risks, Issues, and Documents) require accounts that use this method
of authentication. Hope this helps.

but i dont want them to use windows authentication, i want them to use the
project server auth. is there a way to do so??

If you do not intend to use Windows User Account authentication, then your
people cannot access Risks, Issues, and Documents. Sorry.

now when you say i have to use windows authentication does that mean i have
to use Active Directory, or just add them to the servers users??
and if i change them to using windows auth. does that mean i have to use the
same methode to make them log into the Project Server??

If you want to use the features of SharePoint, including Risks, Issues, and
Documents, your users must use Windows User Account uthentication as their
method of logging into Project Server. To use this method of
authentication, you will need to set the Windows User Account value for each
resource in the Enterprise Resource Pool. You should also set the
authentication method in Project Server to Mixed, which allows the use of
both Windows User Account authentication and Project Server authentication.
You do not need to use Active Directory for this. Hope this helps.

so i added a couple of users to the project server that use windows auth.
and added them to the project servers user list, but they can log in to the
PWA using thosse accounts!!!
and if the PWA still uses project server auth. and the user wants to access
the shared documents and he has a windows user account, can he access the
docs if his windows account is not an administrative??

O

sorry but i relized i had to add them to the site users from the WSS
centeral administration site, so i works now, thanks for the help.
