Critical Chain COM or Plug-ins for Project Server 2002 or Project Server 2003

Hello,

Our company has been using Project Server 2002 for the last year. I feel we
are still
in the forming stage of using this tool. However, I have been asked to
investigate
methods of tracking critical paths (Critical-Chain) and TOC (Theory of
Contraints).

Some other programs that do this include :
PlanBee Pro Critical Path Project Management
ProjectExecutive Critical Path Technical Services
Concerto
ProChain

Book on Critical Chain Project Management
Critical Chain by Eliyahu Goldratt

Can someone point me to plugins, COM interfaces or any other interfaces that
work with Project Server 2002 or Project 2003 that will aid in analyzing the
Critical Chain and TOC effectively? Or provide me ideas on how to configure
Project Server to meet this new requirement.

Thanks,
Gwen

Gwen:

Project does not formally support TOC, in that there is no buffer attribute
to a task. The good news is that the next version of Project will contain
this support. In the mean time, it's up to you to decide how to model these
into your plan. I suggest you get a copy of Dynamic Scheduling (either 2002
or 2003 edition) by Eric Uyttewaal. Eric is a ardent Golrattian and this
examples and insights should help.

The folks at Prochain had a great tool for MSP a while back. I'd give them a call and see what they've got now.
