Critical Task

Hi, appreciated if you can help on below matter...

My boss created a project plan template for other
colleagues. When I created a new project plan by the
template and then enabling the tracking Gantt view, it's
found there are some red line (critical) tasks. I am
wondering why it will happen. I expect only blue line for
a project plan starting. How to resolve it?

Hi Vincent,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

If a project has only one task, it is critical. Every project has a
critical path joining the critical tasks. Thus you will always have
critical tasks and they default to a red bar in the Tracking Gantt view. In
the Gantt Chart view, you need to run the Gantt Chart Wizard to turn
critical bars red. If you're unsure of how criticality is calculated, have
