critical updates

When I get a list of updates, Microsoft says I need a critical update for
Office 2003. I think there was a trial version of Office 2003 on my
computer, but I never used it since I had an earlier version. I have
purchased, installed, and registered Office 2007. Do I still need that
Office 2003 update, and assuming no, how do I get rid of the message and
attempt to install it by Microsoft Update?

If you do not want to see the offer again, put that update into the Hidden
Folder in WU Home.
If at some time it is required, then you know where it is and can recover
it, download and install.

Any trial version should be uninstalled if unused or expired, failure to do
so can lead to unintended consequences for Office

I appreciate that you are using that web interface to post, but if you have
future probs with critical/security updates, like those that come every
Black Tuesday, then it may be more appropriate to ask in the windowsupdate
group, of which I believe there is one in the discussion group.
If not, use newsgroups to post - so much easier.
