I have a Word 2003 document that uses outline numbering. I want to
insert a cross-reference to a numbered heading, so that the reference
shows both the number and the text of the heading. For example, if I
have a heading that appears as "1.1 Getting started", I want my
reference to appear as "1.1 Getting started" as well.
Can I do this with a single REF field? I realise that I can do it by
inserting two fields, one for the number and the other for the text,
but I wonder if there's a neater way to do it.
Thanks
