CSV file import into worksheets

I have about 15 csv files I'd like to import into Excel.
When I drag a csv file into Excel, it opens a new workbook
for each. I want to have it import onto separate worksheets,
within one workbook.

I tried creating a bunch of blank sheets, and drag-drop onto
the tabs, but it still created a new workbook. I'd like to
avoid the select-copy-paste steps...

Each csv file is in a different language, so maybe it does
not like that, though mixed languages should work (it does
in Wordpad..) French, German, Swedish, English, etc.

Roger,

Proceed as before where you have one csv file per workbook. When you have
two workbooks opened, copy Sheet1 from WorkbookA to WorkbookB where it will
be Sheet1(2). Just right mouse click the sheet you want moved or copied,
and then just follow the prompts. You can rename the sheets as you desire.
In essence, keep creating separate and unique workbooks and simply copy the
sheets afterwards.

When you write, "When I drag a csv file into Excel..." that is a method I am
not familiar with. I usually open the CSV file from within Excel. Then
Excel provides some user friendly prompts as to how I want things arranged.
But perhaps you get the same options.

In any event, you can achieve you solution by simply copying the sheet
between workbooks. Just right mouse click the sheet you want moved or
copied, and then just follow the prompts.

John Walkenbach www.j-walk.com has a very handy add in that has the
feature of inserting another file into a spreadsheet at the point of
the cursor. The incoming file can be CSV or another xls file. Much
like the feature that was in spreadsheets of yore when you could
readily combine files.
