CTRL F9

I have used CTRL F9 =123\*cardtext F9 feature often. All of a sudden it has
stopped working. I know I am entering the command properly because I've
tried it on a colleagues computer and it works fine. Another recent problem
is when I type my email address in the body of the letter, once I press
space, my email address is preceded with {HYPERLINK and I must delete this
for it to appear properly in the letter. I am assuming something is wrong in
my settings... any help would be appreciated.

Try pressing Alt+F9, which is the shortcut for toggling the option at Tools

Options > View > Field codes.
