Cube and Custom Fields

Just want to clarify that you cant use custom fields in data analysis
cubes that dont have lookup tables?

Not exactly.

You can't use custom fields that:

1) are driven by formulas

or

2) use multi-value selection from a lookup table.

The only other custom field you can use is the Flag custom field ( for
dimensions at least) and also note, only custom fields with lookup tables
that do not have a multiselect can be used within the cube.
