Cube Build Error

A

Avi

I am getting the below error when trying to build cube for the first time on
a fresh 2-tier install. Application server + db server (which hosts analysis
services)

Failed to build the OLAP cubes. Error: Analysis Services session failed with
the following error: Failed to connect to the Analysis Services server
servername. Error: Your permissions on the server computer do not allow you
to administer this Analysis server. Error:

Background. Followed the instructions on this article
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc197552.aspx

1) Service pack requirements
9.00.3077.00 SP2 Enterprise Edition (64-bit)

2) Install the DSO client components on Project Server application servers
Done

3) Configure the SSP account to access SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services
3.1)Add the SSP account to an OLAP users local group on the computer hosting
SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services.
Done
3.2) Add the SSP account as an administrator on the SQL Server 2005 Analysis
Services instance.
Done

4) Option 2
4.1) Create the Repository database in SQL Server 2005
Done
4.2)Edit the Analysis Services DSO configuration
Done

5) Grant the Analysis Services service account access to the Project Server
Reporting database
Done. We are using local system. Granted local system db_datareader on
ProjectServer_reporting db + Added the Domain\MachineName$ as an account in
Enterprise Manager with DB_DataReader role permissions to the Project Server
Reporting database.

6) Install the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services 9.0 OLE DB Provider
Done. Analysis server + Client machine.

Additionally:
I have added the SSP account to the local admin group on the analysis server
box
I have logged as the SSP account and 'tested' connection on Analysis
Services DSO configuration settings.

Concerns:
I do not see DSO9 folder. I read (below) that this is needed and should have
had been created using Option 2 of the installation specified on the
instruction article.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.X\OLAP\DSO9. (The X will be a
number relating to the installation of analysis services). Therefore
SSPAdmin, or your equivalent service account will need read and write access
to this directory - and if you are in a multi server environment then also
read/write access via the share.

Please let me know what could be missing.
Thanks!
