CUMULATIVE ADDING IN A COLUMN?

FOR GOODNESS SAKES SURELY IT CANT B THIS DAMN DIFFICULT...IM DOING MY HEAD IN
HERE! ALL I WANT TO DO IS KEY IN AN AMOUNT IN A SINGLE COLUMN AND HAVE EXCEL
CUMULATIVELY ADD THE AMOUNTS TOGETHER FOR ME SAVE THE USE OF A CALCULATOR. EG
I ENTER IN COLUMN A: $10. THEN ON THE NEXT LINE IN "A", I ENTER $20. EXCEL
THEN ADDS THESE, CHANGING $20 TO $30.CAN SOMEONE PLS HELP B4 I CONTEMPLATE
THROWING THIS PC OUT THE WINDOW!

Hi
It is considered very rude to use CAPITALS for a post. Take a chill pill! If
you want a running total in an adjacent column you can do this by adding the
new figure to the previous total. If you want an accumulator have a look
here:

This will involve some VBA, though.

No good getting angry and shouting at the world!

If you are working in column A1, then insert the following formula in Col B1

=IF(A1="","",A1)

Now enter the following formula in B2, and copy it down as far as you want
to go

IF(OR(A2="",B1=""),"",B1+A2)

Type your figures into column A, and you will have a running total in col B

We don't use caps lock when posting queries, it is considered rude :)
