Currency Symbol

Excel for mac 2008 has too many features that is not available compare
to Excel in Windows. However, not having a complete currency (for
example: Malaysia ringgit, Indonesia Rupiah, etc) symbol is really
annoying. Lots of people using excel for accounting/financial purposes
in International companies. Anyway we can update in by ourself ? Or we
need to wait on office update for it if microsoft ever going to update
it.

I'm not sure where you're looking or whether you've looked far enough, but
the currencies you referred to are certainly there: Format> Cells - Number -
Currency or Auditing - Currency Symbol... But note the scroll arrow at the
bottom of the list. The symbols aren't there, but then again they aren't in
Excel 2007 either. I'm not familiar with them so I don't know what symbols -
if any - would be correct, but if you're seeing symbols rather than the
literal characters MDR & IDR in an Excel sheet they were obtained as a
result of something other than normal formatting.
