David --
I believe you have discovered that "current tasks" are implemented
differently in the My Tasks page for a resource and the View Resource
Assignments page for managers. On the My Tasks page for resources, a
"current task" would meet the following criteria according to your
definition:
1. The task will begin in the next 7 business days (working days, not
including weekends)
2. The Start Date for the task is in the past, and work on the task is not
yet complete
On the View Resource Assignments page, a "current task" is implemented in a
slightly different way, and would meet the following criteria according to
your definition:
1. The task will begin in the next 7 business days (working days, not
including weekends)
2. The Start Date for the task is in the past, and the task is not yet
complete
3. The Start Date for the task is in the past, and the task IS complete
Note that the difference between the two definitions is that completed tasks
appear on the View Resource Assignments page. To confirm that what I have
described is correctly, please do the following to see the current
assignments according to your definition:
1. Log into PWA
2. Click the Resources menu to display the Resource Center page
3. In the sidepane on the left, click the "View resource assignments" link
4. Click the "Current assignments" link in the sidepane
5. Click the "Timesheet format" option in the sidepane
In the task list on the left, you will see that the tasks displayed include
completed tasks, tasks that should have started by now and are incomplete,
tasks that have started in the past but are not yet complete, and tasks that
will start in the next 7 business days. Examine the timesheet for each
future task to note that they are scheduled to start in the next 7 days.
Hope this helps.
