Cursor disappears when over italic text in some fonts

Hi,

I'm editing a document in Word 2007 (SP1) that uses the Adobe Caslon Pro
font. When I set a section of text to italic and move the text editing
cursor over it, the text cursor either disappears or appears at a random
place in the document, although typed text is still inserted in the right
place. If I switch the font on the affected text to Calibri, it works again.
Adobe Caslon Pro works fine in other applications, such as WordPad under XP.

Thanks!

I, too, have this issue in a paragraph formatted to Adobe Garamond Pro,
italicized. The cursor also becomes a backslash over this section -- and it's
far more extreme than normal, thus difficulat to use.

Any answers?

There are so many possible causes - possibly more than one cause. These
include:

The font screen display badly written
Conflict between display driver and mouse driver
A mouse driver issue
A display driver issue
A printer driver issue (yes, the printer driver affects the display in Word)
A bad display itself
Possible (but unlikely) problem with Word
