Custom Animation Help

Hello,

Maybe this was asked and maybe I need to learn how to use better search
words, but I will ask again if necessary?

I am trying to create a Power Point Presentation for a Business Class,
and am having problems with my animation. I have a ball created and
have dropped text boxes in this ball. I have made the text boxes go in
different directions and angles. Now I want to have that text come out
and line up on both sides of the pages. However it doesn't come out
straight and the text box stays at an angle. Has anybody ever
attempted this before?

Please let me know if you need more information?

Thank you
David Reid

Hello David,

assuming you are using PowerPoint 2002 or 2003, you could try combining a
"spin" animation with an animation path.

Kind regards,
Ute

Hello,

I am using 2003. And would the spin path actually straighten a text
box out that was already turned at say a 45% angle?

Thank you

Hello David,

Format - Text - Size will tell you the exact angle of the text. Apply the
spin animation and set it to rotate the same angle in the opposite direction
(you'll find that settin in the animation task pane).

Kind regards,
Ute

Ute,

Now seeing as I am a bit slow on this one. Would the animation you are
talking about be the custom animation? Remember this applies to a text
box and the text within that box. I want each text box to snap to a
different place on the sides, but basically in columns.

I am hoping I am making sense?

Thank you
David

Ute,

Thank you I finally figured out what you were talking about. I had to
go into the Emphasis to get the Counterclockwise effect and Spin effect
I needed.

One other question though? Does Microsoft have an effect to create and
explosion or send the text flying off in pieces?

Thank you
David

David,
To get something like an explosion combine two effects.

1. Exit animation Dissolve out
2. Emphasis animation Grow/Shrink set to grow to 400%
3. Set the emphasis animation to fire with previous animation.

Play with the timings/speed of the animation to get the desired effect.

Shyam,

Thank you that kind of does what I want, but I was realistically
looking for something that makes the text kind of shatter and fly off
in segments. Is there something that I can do to get this effect in
Power Point?

Thank you
David
