Custom Animation & Layered Images

Hi All!

I'm creating slides with images that fade out and are replaced by images
that fade in....

My problem is keeping track of the images 'under' other images. If I want to
add any effects to some of the earlier images, I have to drag the top images
out of the way first!

Does ppt offer a way of easile displaying, highlighting, etc images under
images?

I use ppt 2002, standard.

Many thanks!

There is no easy way - When I do this is simply use Ctrl+A key combo to
select all - add an animation to all of them at a time by selecting them by
name in the animation window, alternatively, animate the image, then send it
to the back using the grouping option in the format menu. This sends the
image behind all the others and if you do this for each one - animate and
send to back - you end up with them in the correct order, all animated
without having to move them around as you send it to the back of all other
images then select the one on top instead!

If you are using PowerPoint 2002, you can use the Select Multiple Objects
option:

If you have access to PowerPoint 2007, the Selection and Visibility pane is
an absolute joy to work with in a scenario like yours.

Have a great day.

Couple of options for you.

One is Select Multiple.
http://visuallounge.techsmith.com/2005/11/powerpoint_secret_revealed.html
explains it.

Another is Steve Rindsberg's PPT2HTML add-in.
http://www.pptools.com/ppt2html/index.html You only need the free demo for
this. What you're looking for is the accessibility assistant part, which has
a layer manager of sorts, and that's available in the demo. The demo doesn't
expire.

One more possibility - move all the pictures so they slightly overlap and
add the animations/get them in right order. Then use the alignment tools to
get them into position as the last step. It's easy to do if you work zoomed
out.
