Custom AutoFiltering

One of my columns contains test scores. I am using
autofiltering and have chosen (CUSTOM) for that column
with the following criteria:
Score
Less Than 190
Each time I get no data returned although I indeed have
data lower that 190. I tried formattting the cells in
that row as numbers, but still no success.

Any idea? I can find Equals but not less than. What
gives? Thanks in advance.

They are obviously still text since text is always greater than number,
see what happens if you type in '190.
Nevertheless, select the column, do data>text to columns,
click finish. Still text? Then you must have some invisible characters,
then you could use

Are you saying that in the "Custom" screen, if you click on the littl
arrow at the right end of the box that says "equals" the othe
choices, including "is less than" do not show up? If that's the case
there is a problem with your Excel program which I don't know how t
solve
