custom code fields

Hi,
In the enterprise custom fields I have cerated a new field "Project name"
(So when I go to Project>Information it will show up as one of the fields in
the list.)
I want the system to recognise this field so when I go to Resource sheet I
want it to appear in a new column.
The reason for this is that all of my projects (we are using project server)
have a name like: Project name 1 .Published, Project Name 2.Puvlished.
So when I group by in the Resource Usage view it groups by "Published".
Since all project ARE that is not good.
Is there a way for me to specify the project name enterprise custom fields
and to use this value in the resource sheet?

Thanks!

You are coming at this from the wrong direction. Having a project level
field will not appear on a resource sheet view. However, you can insert the
column "project" on either the resource usage view or the task usage view and
be able to see which projects the task assignments are tied to.

Hi Ellen,

Thank you very much for your reply.
The problem is that the project column has for the project that is open
"Project Name.Published" and that is not open (but activities are still
visible) only "published"
so when I group by Project I only get "Published"...

We have contractors from various comapnies so grouping by Company name then
person name and then by project makes an excellent view / report.

Right now I have:
+Company Name
+Person Name
Task 1
Task 2
etc.

What I want to see is the following:
Group by:
+Company name
+Person Name
+Project Name
Task 1
Task 2
etc

is there a way to get this?

Thanks so much!
