Custom codes

Hi every one,

What Custom Codes can you use that can be helpful when
added to Portfolio Analyzer?
I have read a lot about Portfolio analyzer in this news
group but I couldnt find much information on what actually
can be done with Custom Codes and Portfolio Analyzer. It
would be great if someone could give me a few examples of
how they use Custom codes and how to add them to Portfolio
Analyzer as dimensions. Or in general what is the best way
of using Custom Codes and what it is good for. Sorry for
being so unknowledgeable!!

By default, only custom enterprise Project and Resource outline codes become
dimensions in the OLAP cube and are visible in Portfolio Analyzer views.
Some examples of custom enterprise Project outline codes could include the
following fields:

Project Status - could include values like Active, Pre-Approval, On Hold, or
Closed
Business Unit - could include the list of business units for which a project
could be performed
Sponsor - could include a list of executives who sponsor projects in the
system

Examples of custom enterprise Resource Outline code fields could include the
following fields:

Language - could includes the spoken/written languages for each resource
Location - could include the geographic location for each resource
Skills - could include the IT or other skills posssed by each resource

In addition to these, the OLAP cube includes the RBS outline code field as a
default dimension. Hope these ideas help.
