custom color palette

I need to create a custom color palette with about ten colors of my choosing to highlight text for teaching notes. Want to make main points in red, illustrations in blue, etc. Need bright colors, not the earthtones in the default color palettes. Big buttons would be nice, too. Is there any way to dothat? Using Word for Mac 2011 v 14.3.9 on my MacBook Pro os 10.9.2.

If you are asking about custom theme colors, my Help file in Word
Mac 2011 says you have to create the color scheme in PowerPoint
first. Does your Help file say you can do it in Word?

The colors in built-in themes such as Breeze and Pushpin look pretty
bright to me, but if those don't work for you, then the instructions
in Word Help should do the trick.
