Custom Enterprise Field value gets erased on opening project

We have added a mandatory custom enterprise text field to our projects. For
some projects it turns out that there are problems with the value (For other
projects it seems that there are no problems) in that the value that was
saved before seems to get erased by the system next time the project is
opened again. We have tested several scenario's where the project gets opened
in different ways: file open in professional, through the project center's
summary view, or through the project center's detail view, etc... Each time
the project's value risks to have been erased by the system.

Kurt,
I had the same problem. There is a hotfix for this: KB 937907
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937907/en-us :
You make a change to an enterprise outline code in the Project
Information dialog box in Project 2007 Project Web Access. If you save
the project plan, publish the project plan, and then open the Project
Information dialog box, the change that you made to the enterprise
outline code is not saved.

This worked for me.
