Custom enterprise fields at the project level not publishing

Mickey

Does anyone know of any issues with custom enterprise fields at the
project level not publishing? I created some project level fields
within PWA, but they are not publishing within the Project Center. I
update the the value in the Project Information screen and then
publish it. I am not getting any error messages when publishing,
however, the custom field does not have a symbol within the Project
Center after it is published.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mickey

Yes, I have the stoplights associated with the fields, but no
stoplights are appearing in Project Center. I am not using a formula
for the fields though.

I know the older versions of Project Server allowed custom fields
which could be triggered manually update via the Project Information
screen. The company that I am at now though is not mature enough to
trigger the stoplights automatically via a formula so I am only
entering values with stoplights and then the PM would need to go into
Project Information and enter the appropriate value to manually
trigger the correct stoplight and then publish it.

All ideas are welcome....
Thanks,
Mickey

Hi Mickey,
You'll need to open them in Project Pro, change a detail and then publish
them. The graphical indicator functionality is still embedded somewhere in
the pro client...

Hi Ben,

Thanks for your help. Can you expand on what exactly I need to do in
Project Pro? Do I have to do anything in the global template in
Project Pro with the custom fields? I noticed that the custom fields
are grayed out in global, but available in the individual projects at
the task and resource levels.

Thanks again,
Mickey

You should just open the project, make sure something has changed, save,
publish, and you should see the changes in PWA. If the fields are
calculated, then F9 needs to be hit to recalc, but as yours are manually
selected, this step should not be necessary.

You also need to check "Inherit criteria from summary rows" for both
Project summary and Summary rows. You can find this roll down list for
criterias above your graphical indicators.

Thanks Ben & Mårten...

Unfortunately, I did both of these and nothing seems to trigger the
stoplight in PWA. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Mickey

Mickey:

If you did everything correctly, another possibility is that you used an
illegal character in defining the field name or value. Make sure that both
contain only alpha/numeric characters or an underscore.
