Have you noticed that people are answering your questions less and less?
There's a reason for this. You need to tell us what version of Project
Server you are using. Is is 2002, 2003, or 2007? If you let us know, that
would help us greatly in responding to your posts.
Furthermore, when you ask us questions, you are giving us only "bare bones"
information that makes it difficult to answer your questions. For eample,
you say you added a custom field in the Resource Sheet and then you say you
can't see it in the Resource Sheet. That makes no sense whatsoever, no
matter what version of Project Server you are using.
OK, so let's try and answer your question anyway. First of all, when you
create a custom field you must create it in the Enterprise Global file if
you are using Project Server 2002 or 2003. You must create a custom
enterprise Resource field and save it, and then save the Enterprise Global
file. After this, you must exit Project Professional, relaunch the
software, and connect to Project Server again. Then, you can add the custom
field to any enterprise custom Resource view. You should NOT add it to the
Resource Sheet view, however, as this will cause an error for all of your
users EVERY time they open EVERY project. Instead, in a blank project,
create a new custom enterprise Resource table and add the fields you want to
see in the View, and then create a new View containing the table. Then open
the Enterprise Global file and user the Organizer (Tools - Organizer) to
copy BOTH the new View and new Table from the blank project to the
Enterprise Global file. Save and close the Enterprise Global, exit and
relaunch Project Professional, and connect to Project Server again. All
users will now be able to access this new custom enterprise resource View
containing the new field. In addition, each individual user can add the new
custom Resource field to any standard Resource view, such as the Resource
Sheet view.
So, if you are going to continue to post questions here, we will try to help
you, but you need to help US also by telling us what version you are using,
and being more descriptive in your questions. Hope this helps.
