Custom Field Security

We are using Proj Server 2007. Can I create a custom resource field that
contains actual salary info and only allow access to specific individuals?
Can this be done thru the app or does it need to be done at a db level?

I think you will find that there is only one username, created at
installation, that accesses the database on behalf of Project Server and I
know of no field-level permissions in Project Server.

Hi PS2007Newbie,

You can create resource custom fields and maintain data of a resource in
these custom fields. Unfortunatly you are not able to manage access to
indivudual custom fields. What you can do is mange resource access, but
generally, I would recommend not maintaining your wage in project server.

Project Server allows you to maintain cost rate tables per resource, but I
would recommend having a "generic" cost structure per role, otherwise PM's
that need to use this resoure will know the wage of the resource. This can
cause issues in some organisations.
