Custom Fields in MSProject Can I limit their use to one instance??

We have crated an Enterprise Custom Field that we can insert into our
Projects and have created a drop down list for the PM to select from however
once they chose a selection from the drop down list, we want to restrict that
particular selection from being used anywhere else in the project. How can I
do this? Said another way in a simple scenario, If I insert a enterprise
custom column called COLOR into my project and select a choice from the drop
down list called RED, I do not want RED to be a valid choice anymore. ONLY
one red allowed in the project.

You could achieve this with macro which queries the same field for other
tasks. Depending on the size of your projects this could prove to be
cumbersome/timely.

I can't think of an alterntive method.

As Paul states, there is no built-in function to restrict choices like this.
I don't think that a macro would be a suitable option either.
