custom fields in project server 2003 grayed out

Hi,
am having problems with the project server 2003. when i try to edit the
custom fields , the dialog box is grayed out. also i like to know if upon
editing the custom fields, will it automatically reflect on the project
information box? thanks

added info: I have a development environment and a production environment.
what i want to accomplish is -- to synchronize the data from the development
to production. in the production environment, there's a missing custom field
needed and some are of different source. I really need to get it done..
please help... thanks

Hi Ann,

Have you checked out the Enterprise Global before attempting to edit
the custom fields?

Hi Ravi,

yes i did checked out the enterprise global.
this is the method i tried:

open a project, open the enterprise global template, then
tools>customized>enterprise fields
when i try to edit a field, the below selections are grayed out.. i cannot
rename..

Ann, it looks like either Project Pro related or a corrupted
Enterprise Global to me.
Could you try it from another computer? Also could you check this
happens on all the custom fields?

yes it happens on every custom fields... and yes i tried it in another
computer..still got the same results... with this situation.. what can i do?
